Matt68506 Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 I don't have a weight or measuring tape, how big do you think this was? 1 Quote
OCdockskipper Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 I'd say he is pushing 210 lbs, although the farmer tan sometimes makes accurate predictions difficult. 1 15 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted August 24, 2018 Super User Posted August 24, 2018 Welcome to the forum. It would be best to bring a scale you can know how much a bass weighs. You can also measure the length and girth of a bass and get a very good estimation of the weight of the bass. Length*Length*Girth÷1200= Weight in pounds Quote
Super User Koz Posted August 24, 2018 Super User Posted August 24, 2018 I'd say a little over 3 pounds. Quote
Super User Ratherbfishing Posted August 24, 2018 Super User Posted August 24, 2018 If we use you for scale, are you huge like Andre the Giant or a diminutive little person? I'd say....3.5 lbs. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 24, 2018 Super User Posted August 24, 2018 Nice fish. Time for a scale! Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted August 24, 2018 Super User Posted August 24, 2018 Having a length will at least put us in the ball park of what the fish might weigh. A good fisherman always has a tape measurer on him! Just judging by the size of your hands compared to the size of the head/mouth, I'm going to guess around 4 pounds (give/take a 1/2 pound). Quote

Eh not really true. Many great fishermen don't care about getting the digits. 3.5-4. If I had to guess more accurately I'd say 3.8. 1 Quote
Super User geo g Posted August 24, 2018 Super User Posted August 24, 2018 Welcome to the sight, without a length its hard to give you an accurate weight, but most guys on this site would be proud to show this bass as one of their catch for the day. Congrats!!!!! Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted August 24, 2018 Super User Posted August 24, 2018 Nice fish! Cool thing about not having a scale is that she's going to weigh more in a few months....and even more in a couple years. 2 Quote
Lead Head Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 If you catch an unexpected monster and want to get measurements, use fishing line. Cut a piece that is length and a second that is girth. You can take the pieces of line home and measure them later. 3 1 Quote
Super User burrows Posted August 25, 2018 Super User Posted August 25, 2018 Solid 4 nice catch?? And welcome to the forums! Quote
Fairtax4me Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 About 3.5-4lbs I'd guess. Brave man fishing from an inflatable boat! Quote
