The only thing I need to do yet is change the steering on it. I currently have cable steering and I hate it, but I was wondering what are the alt. to the old cable systems? PS- I uploaded a with my boat in the bottom left side of it. It shows a little what my boat is like. Quote

Super User Wayne P. Posted February 26, 2008 Super User Posted February 26, 2008 Most modern boats have one of two types of remote steering. The cheapest is the rack and pinion single cable and an upgrade to the two cable system for larger motors. Teleflex is the brand and Cabelas and Bass Pro Shops carry them. The easiest to install and most expensive is hydraulic steering. SeaStar is the brand. Quote
