tander Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Most of my fish this summer has come from a Senko or TRD. 1 Quote

NH-Fishin Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 A pretty good chunk of the fish I have pulled in this summer have been on a senko either texas rig or wacky rig. Granted, you catch on what you use, and use what you catch with...so using a lot of senkos, catch plenty of fish on senkos. Though yesterday I was out for about 4 hours, for 2.5 hours was using rage tails, chatter bait, swim baits...nothing. switched to texas rig black and blue senko and caught 6 lmb in an hour and a half, all 1-2 lbs. Super User geo g Posted August 20, 2018 Super User Posted August 20, 2018 I use them all year round, and all you need is to figure out how they want it that day, that hour. Universal baits also flukes, U-vibes and jigs. They never want it the same way all year long. Yesterday I caught two snakeheads, a peacock, and 3 small bass of a stick-o. They are a summer fishing machine. Thanks Glenn for the video, I enjoyed it. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 20, 2018 Global Moderator Posted August 20, 2018 Flipping a weightless stick worm into holes in the grass is a great way to get them to bite when they're suspended just below the grass and ignoring heavier weighted baits crashing down past them. That's how I got this one a few weeks ago on a weightless black Ocho. 2 1 Quote
Super User NHBull Posted August 20, 2018 Super User Posted August 20, 2018 Every guest I brought out with me this Summer got a weightless wacky senko on a spinning rod and caught more fish than I did. They work! Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted August 20, 2018 Super User Posted August 20, 2018 Most of the bass I have caught this summer have been on senko type baits. I've been fishing them weightless in coontail and around lily pads. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted August 20, 2018 Super User Posted August 20, 2018 Saturday, I caught, what I think was my second LMB ever on wacky stickbait (Keitech Salty Core on 1/8 Owner Ultra Wacky.) Was dropping it down ledges. It was big fish of the weekend; just shy of 4. Just never had luck or patience or confidence with wacky before. Quote

They don't exactly mop up on my favorite lake either. I've had a couple good outings with them wacky rigged, but most of the time they get ignored. Actually, during the dog days, almost everything gets ignored. I also wacky rig other worms occasionally. Quote
Krux5506 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Haven't put much time in this summer with Senkos, mainly because I was Ned Rigging most of the time up until a couple weeks ago. Now all of the sudden I'm getting the bigger higher quality fish just chucking spinnerbaits, when earlier this year when the water was cold they wouldn't touch a spinnerbait. I don't get it. A couple years ago, I would go out and pretty much ONLY throw senkos. Quote

Surefire way to get bit on a wacky is to cast it out and then take a leak while it slowly falls. The bass just know when you're indisposed. Quote

And...you sort of hit on why I don't throw it much...I'm just not a very good 'slow bass fisherman'...more of a Chuck&Winder....drop-shotting falls into same pot. Usually, my Senkos find themselves trigged with a little weight up the line. I'm well aware it isn't always as effective as the slow drop....but, patience was never my strong suit Quote

The last time I fished in the inlets at the beach I got a backlash on the first cast. I picked it out and started reeling up to find I already had a fish on. It was a toadfish and I didn't get another bite that day. Quote

Squarebill79 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Iv'e been catching numbers and sizes all summer with 5 inch Yum Dingers and Stick-O's wacky rigged. Nothing works better in the lakes and ponds i fish. Quote
Marco Rodriguez Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 just started bass fishing at the beginning of the summer but my fish have only come on texas rigged zoom trick worms in black. Got some senko's and going to try them out wacky rigged and see how it goes Quote
