I recently acquired a St. Croix Legend Xtreme 7' MH rod. I looked up the serial number and it shows to be August of 2011 so it's a previous generation. However it's in as mint condition as can be.

My question is what would this rod be worth?

I havent decided if I want to possibly upgrade it to the newer model with the new handle or go ahead and pair it with my Concept-Z I have

Go ahead and fish it. They were nice rods.

Yea I reckon it wouldn't be worth the cost of a new one, other than the new handles on the new version it's the same rod. It's very nice and is the highest end rod I own at this point.

Yeah just keep it can’t never have to many rods sending it in for an upgrade might end up more expensive than you think after shipping cost.

I wouldn’t think it would be worth a brand new one, call St. Croix and ask how much you could get on a trade in, if possible.

I tried calling about a trade in last week and was told they no longer do trade ins. They only allow defects and broken rods to be returned for credit

Well that definitely settles it. I'll fish with it paired with a Concept-Z reel I got a good deal on

That will be a great combo.
