Step 1. Join a gym step 2. Get stronger , lots of curls and wrist movement. Step 3. Start with small jars that needed opening and step 4. Twist the seat loose with your new found strength haha ?

A small strap wrench, or channel locks with a rubber sleeve of some kind (old bike inner tubes or scrap of vinyl) work well. A little wax or silicone lube will keep it from sticking.

Well, the ususal “stick it in the freezer” is out, unless you have access to a walkin.

Please be careful if you use pliers on the reel seat nut.  They are usually plastic made in China.

If it's like mine it probably has some kind of gunk dried in the threads.
