What line should I put on this rod and reel?

I have an ALX Zolo deputy that I plan to pair with a Daiwa fuego ct 7.3:1 to use for jigs and Texas rigs. What kind of line do you think I should spool up on this combo? I was thinking maybe 30lb braid or maybe like 15lb fluorocarbon. I fish practically strictly from the bank, smaller ponds and lakes with decent amounts of scattered vegetation and other structure like rocks, laydowns, occasionally docks, etc. 

 

I've been a long time proponent of braid for its great sensitivity and little stretch, but I'm also interested in trying fluoro because it sinks which seems like it would be beneficial for fishing jigs and Texas rigs. How does the sensitivity and line stretch of braid compare to fluoro? 

 

Any and all tips would be greatly appreciated!

I use 30 lb. Sufix 832 on my casting rigs.  Braid has basically no stretch and at least for me, is easier to untangle any backlashes.  Fluoro stretches as much as nylon at first then takes a set. A lot of guys prefer fluoro but I think it has too many drawbacks. JMHO

WHY NOT BOTH? Haha. Braid and an FC leader is a good idea, just gotta learn the right knot. If the water is pretty murky, you could get away with straight braid, otherwise, stick with all FC or the leader. You should also consider how often you get hung up while fishing; if you tend to get hung up often, you should try braid (you can get out of more snags with braid generally).

I use 12 lb FC for jigs and Texas rigs. I only like braid for frogs.
