jmintz636 Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I have this plug (can't post links) it is item # 38-589-632-00 on bass pro site. now my issue is i have a 24 volt system and do not want to run two sets of wire to back of the boat. The product states there is an internal jumper in the plug. has anyone jumped at the battery and only run two wires??? does the plug still work?? thanks Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 22, 2008 Super User Posted February 22, 2008 Just chose what two connections to make at the receptacle and match those two with the plug. Eliminate the plug jumper and jump at the batteries. The plug jumper is normally used when your set-up is a 12/24 volt trolling motor and you have 4 wires running to the receptacle. Quote
jmintz636 Posted February 22, 2008 Author Posted February 22, 2008 so jump the battery and only use the the positive from battery 1 and the negative from battery 2 and disreguard the others. i got it. thank you! Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 22, 2008 Super User Posted February 22, 2008 CORRECTION. I have another set up with 4 wires. I just looked up the model number you stated. With that plug which has three connections, the 12/24V hookup uses a jumper at the batteries also. Just pick a matching pair of connections at the plug and receptacle and a jumper at the batteries and you will be OK for 24V. Quote
