I accept that it's the biggest fish on record for the state, but official state records should be from public waters.  NY's record was caught under similar circumstances - private pond.  It's not likely to be broken any time soon.

...and for the record - the Jitterbug still works quite well to this day.  Many times forgotten about, but extremely effective.

I understand your concern. It should be public waters only. Back in the day private ponds were just ponds with fish in them as opposed to managed fisheries.

So I guess I'm not the only one where it happens that the Jitterbug gets hit at the end of the retrieve.
