YoTone Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Last night a buddy and I picked up a few Thermocells at a hardware store and gave it a go and I cant believe i didnt try this out earlier. as a night time angler ive spent many nights ruined because of mosquitoes. no more sweating it out wearing long sleeve clothing in the hot muggy nights. even with the lotions or spray you still have them buzzing in your face and God forbid you miss one square inch on your body. ever put mosquito repellent on your face and then get sweaty? yeah fun times. people have asked me if i was on drugs because of the marks on my forearms, thats how bad it gets if you frequently fish at night. Im not sure on how it will work on breezy days but as for now this is a gods gift. im currently shopping around for the best deals on refills because im going to buy them by the truckloads. 3 1 Quote

Brew City Bass Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 For some reason they never seemed better than some good ol high deet spray. Bugs still got on me and bit me with the cells. Never really have a problem with the spray. Quote
bostonsox2904 Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 On a breezy day, the Thermacell repellent will be carried away with the wind. It essentially creates a little stream of bug-repellent smoke (gas?) like a tiny incense. I'll have to give it another try when night fishing. Hope it works on noseeums! 1 Quote
GReb Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Been using them down here in Mississippi for a decade and they provide a nice layer of protection. Combine it with Off 40% deet and you are usually good Check our Spartan Mosquito for protection around your home. It just flat works https://spartanmosquito.com/ Quote
Dens228 Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 I've used them when hunting for years! They work as advertised! Quote
nosdog2 Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 From a hunting/outdoors standpoint, I think it is the best outdoor invention in the last 10 years. It is invaluable for early season hunting. If you have ever been on a spring bear hunt in NB, Canada you can attest to its worth on black flies as well. I found it works on the boat the same as it does on the patio or in a tree, if there is wind it doesn't work, but if it is windy usually the skeeters aren't there either. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 19, 2018 Global Moderator Posted August 19, 2018 If you're moving much faster than a crawl or if there's much wind they don't work. 1 Quote
