Refurbished fish finders?

Any issue purchasing refurbished fish finders?

A friend called Lowrance, looking to buy a couple Hook5's. The guy he talked to said the refurbed Hook7's were cheaper. He said they have new guts and the same warranty as new units. I have not seen the units or talked to my friend since he got them so I don't know about the cosmetics.

Cosmetics are generally like new on refurbs.
