Bassin' Brad Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Very good fishing Nolan! I, like the others, enjoyed watching and listening to you fish today! Quote
mattkenzer Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Well done Nolan ..... what an effort. You are a talent young man. This is just the beginning of something special. Thank you for letting us be a part of a great day fishing. 1 Quote
WVU-SCPA Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Never before have I cheered for a fish to break off, can't say that anymore after Ratliff's last fish he caught. Regardless of the results, awesome job Nolan. I'm sure in the not to distant future we will be seeing you on another big stage. Head up and get ready for classes to start. Taking Ichthology this semester? Was by far my favorite course, a final that consists of a bunch of preserved fish in a bucket and all you have to do is identify them is a test to take any day. Quote
OCdockskipper Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 One of the great things about todays match is that neither angler lost it. Both showed their talents and were able to perform under alot of pressure. Congratulations to Nick Ratliff on the win and again to Nolan for a great performance. 5 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted August 16, 2018 Super User Posted August 16, 2018 Quote You both are 4 oz. apart. You both have 13 and change. Nolan is smart as a whip! Duh, he had 13-4 - he figured it out. You can't have 13 and change and be 13-0. The only answer is 13-8. 4 Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 16, 2018 Super User Posted August 16, 2018 Usually after 2 hrs & 45 minutes waiting on my wife at doctors office I'm pretty POd...not this time! @everythingthatswims excellent job young man ? 5 3 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted August 16, 2018 Global Moderator Posted August 16, 2018 I watched the Live reveal. I wanted Nolan to win, that being said both of those young guys are class acts. For Nick to say he's sure Nolan will be up there again goes to show the maturity of him. The fact that both respected each others space on the lake speaks volumes of their maturity. Some of the Pros need to take a page out of both of these guy's book. Well done to both of you guys! 8 Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted August 16, 2018 Super User Posted August 16, 2018 Two very impressive anglers and two very impressive young men in that competition today. Congratulations to both of them! 2 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted August 16, 2018 Super User Posted August 16, 2018 Congrats to these two anglers. Both showed some real class here 3 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted August 16, 2018 Super User Posted August 16, 2018 Awesome job Nolan! Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted August 16, 2018 Super User Posted August 16, 2018 I groaned out loud when Ratliff got that 2.11 and went ahead. But he seems like a great young man too. Nolan, it was great seeing you fishing . You did us all proud. 5 Quote
ohboyitsrobby Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Way to go Nolan. All you can ask for in tournament fishing is a chance. And you more than did that. I'm sure this won't be the last time the fishing world here's your name. 1 Quote
Bass Turd Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Nolan, I know you must be extremely disappointed with the results... missing by just four ounces. Ouch. But wow! You did your absolute best! Very poised. Not shaken I enjoyed watching you fish. How you handle adversity is what this world is all about. Stay humble. Stay focused. Learn any lessons that can be learned. Give yourself credit where credit is due. Shake it off. Fish tomorrow. You will have plenty of wins. 2 Quote

Hurricane Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Awesome job man. Memories you will remember for the rest of your life! Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted August 16, 2018 Super User Posted August 16, 2018 Way to represent WVU, buddy! I'm sorry it didn't go your way, but you've still got bragging rights for life! Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted August 17, 2018 Super User Posted August 17, 2018 What an incredible tournament. I'm sure it stings like nothing else right now, but that's going to drive him to even bigger and better things down the road. Those two were nothing but class... well done fellas. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted August 17, 2018 BassResource.com Administrator Posted August 17, 2018 Nolan, that was a fantastic run! One that many would only hope to do, and would be the pinnacle of their tournament achievements. But... I think you know as well as I, this is just the start. You're poised in the spotlight, comfortable in front of the camera, and cool under pressure. Champion characteristics. You're on your way buddy. You're on your way. 4 Quote
Tim Kelly Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 I was watching Live here in London and transfixed. Very good entertainment, a real nail biter. Nolan was so good in front of the cameras, can't imagine he doesn't have a career ahead as a pro fisherman, with all the sales and education duties they need to be good at. Guy's a natural! Very impressed. 3 Quote
