Tomorrow is the start of the College Bracket Championship.

The winner will get a chance to fish in the 2019 Bassmaster Classic held in Knoxville TN.

One of our own @everythingthatswims is representing West Virginia.

Good luck !!

(there will be some Live coverage on the bassmaster website starting Wed)

This format has to be a bit unsettling....'partnering all year'....but 'competing' for a ticket to the classic....

Good luck!!

This is the first time I am paying attention to the college brackets since Jordan Lee was in college.

Do your best Nolan.  If you come out on top, I bet we could get 40 or 50 of us from this forum to come to the Classic and be your rooting section!!

As long as @Raider Nation Fisher is front and center

It is a unique format for sure, but the only way I fish against Casey is if we both advance all the way to the final day, and at that point it would mean the boat is coming to WVU which is what we want!

Quick update ...

He got a pretty good one early.

They are using basstrack and his opponent has not registered a fish yet.

(often times cell service is spotty and updates don't always happen live)

Just checked and he has 2 in the boat and sitting in 4th. Still a ton of fishing left.

Scratch him being in 4th. I forgot it was a bracket and he's only fishing against one guy. My bad. ?

Even a finish of 4th is good....if his opponent is 5th.... correct?

It doesn't really matter where he finishes as long as he beats the guy he's fishing against.

Yup. As long as he beats his opponent he moves on. Nolan could finish 7th and his opponent 8th and Nolan moves on. I realized it was a bracket matchup after posting.

I hope he can enjoy the moment.

He has a 1 in 4 chance at making the Bassmaster Classic.

Thats pretty freaking awesome!!

Cant wait for his detailed write up

Very good Nolan, excellent strategy to back off your spot once you knew your opponent was struggling.  It would have been easy to try & load the boat today, instead you kept your wits and made a good long term decision.  Congratulations!

Keep enjoying yourself!

Nolan is off to a good start, 4 fish in the boat for 7-7.  So far it is looking like he may be the only one to increase his weight from yesterday.

He's off to a good start that's for sure. It looks like he's got a pattern figured out.

I checked the live web feed yesterday right as he was walking on stage at half time.  He has represented himself and his university very well.  Should he make it to the classic,  I'm sure sponsors will line up to have him represent them.  That's half the battle in making it as a pro.   Good luck @everythingthatswims

I just watched Bassmaster Live while on my lunch and @everythingthatswims is still leading his competetor by 2-3 pounds. He's throwing a jerk bait at the moment. I wasn't able to see him catch anything and he must be in a bad cell service area because the camera was cutting in and out then finally lost signal for a 5 minutes then I stopped it.

Hopefully he can keep this momentum going the rest of the day. It appears his competitor is struggling in the wind today.
