I've been thinking about getting a composite rod for crank bait fishing. Does anyone have a "budget friendly" option they would point me to? What length would recommend?

Don't know what your target price is, but Lew's David Fritts Perfect Crankers are the best I've seen under a hundred bucks. M/M or MH/M.    jj

Couldn't agree more. Have both Med. and Med./Heavy. I only wish they still made the 6'6" for short range shallow crank baits. I think they are $79 at most stores.

I bought a Dobyn's Fury 705CB a few weeks ago. 7' MH/M and it was recommend by several here. They were right.

My wife and I need more than one rod for throwing traps during the fall striper season so we both use our good crankbait rods as well as a few Berkley Lightning Shock Rods. For $50 the 6'6" Medium Mod is a pretty decent option.

I am not saying it is as nice as my Irod Genesis II or Falcon Bucoo Trapmaster but it is not far off and it is 1/3 the price. I have the same Daiwa Tatula on them as I have on my more expensive rods.

How about giving us the budget?  A $400 rod is budget friendly, if your budget is $1000.

For $100, the Okuma EVX Crankbait Casting Rod 7' Medium is the very best I've tried.

Haven't tried many alternatives, but I really like my St Croix mojo glass 7'4" medium moderate. I find it extremely versatile, so much so, I've just ordered a second one.
