JLBBass Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 My Polar Kraft was equipped with this. I like it better than a large ladder hanging off the back. I tested it, and it is easy to use while in water. Here's a link to something like it. www.summitracing.com/parts/pho-ph1258?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-phoenix-usa&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzK_bBRDDARIsAFQF7zOjv2p9CXsQM6c4iwTMNHGpNJ7k3bJ8jrzv0EYn3VOqi-Gbc-xd3RgaAuAsEALw_wcB 1 Quote
Mikeltee Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 That is slick. Beats a rope ladder or using the lower unit! Quote
Brew City Bass Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 How the $%$# does this hold any amount of weight without pulling right out? Quote
Super User Scott F Posted August 10, 2018 Super User Posted August 10, 2018 2 hours ago, Brew City Bass said: How the $%$# does this hold any amount of weight without pulling right out? By using a backing plate, washers, and quality hardware. 1 1 Quote
Arcs&sparks Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Nice! Thanks for the tip, I’ll incorporate these into my new boat. Quote
PECo Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 I just saw one of these mounted on the back of a work truck. It’s pretty slick. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 10, 2018 Super User Posted August 10, 2018 What makes it better than just using the cavitation plate to get back in? Also, doesn't look very comfortable on bare feet. 1 Quote

No chance in hell it's pulling out! It's bolted through a 2" aluminum plated transom! Quote

Super User J Francho Posted August 12, 2018 Super User Posted August 12, 2018 All modern outboards have a cavitation plate. You step on it, and use the manual trim on the side of the motor to hoist you up. It’s almost easier than a ladder. Quote
