Hello all, I know there are some threads about this reel but those conversations went in a different direction and I didn't want to distract from them.  Anyways, I'm simply wondering if the new Curado DC has that "whine" noise when casting.  I love that sound, but I've read that the Scorpion DCs didn't really have it, so that's why I am questioning if the Curado makes a similar noise or not.

Also, what color is the handle and drag star?  Stock photos online show it to be a sexy (can a reel be sexy?) bronze color that accents the black beautifully.  But that reel tester on youtube said it was a green color.

I know these are both shallow questions that have no relation to performance on the water, but I like my reels to be aesthetically pleasing so I can look and them and fondle them during the long, cold, and dark Wisconsin winter and feel secure with my investment?

You can find multiple videos of the reel in action on youtube. That will answer your question about the whine noise. You can also find 100’s of images on google at different angles and lighting. Just look at a handful of them to see what color the parts are. Both answers are easily obtainable in the time it took you to make this thread. I’m sure someone will come along and give you the information though.

Yes to both. It’s whine is music to my ears and the color is kind of bronze-ish on the drag and such. Looks very nice

It’s actually green and not bronze.  Shimano even says it has green accents. You can see that in the picture google so kindly provided me with in a few seconds.

Answered it incorrectly...LOL.  That is not what I would describe as bronze.

I hear you about the whine though.  I don't really need the benefits of a DC reel for mechanical reasons, I just want to hear that sound.  I too would have pulled the trigger already on the Scorpion but a DC reel that makes no noise...why bother?

Yes I can see some green in there but to me bronze-ish works. When I first got it and took it on the water green was not the color that came to mind. Not it a big deal everyone sees things differently.

Exactly, and that’s the problem with not doing your own research and wanting the answers fed to you.  It’s green, not bronze.

Stop being condescending, it makes ya look bad.

Anyways, I got all the info I need, have a good one!
