wisconsin heat Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Can someone help me Identify this knot? Knot Starts at 9:18. The way this guy tied it makes it look like a great alternative to a palomar when it comes to dropshotting. I can only get the palomar right about 50% of the time, the first time. This knot had the hook sitting PERFECTLY. If you are familiar with this knot, please chime in!!! Quote
Super User JustJames Posted August 8, 2018 Super User Posted August 8, 2018 Look similar to Japanese dropshot knot that I always use. Sorry for hi-jack your thread. BTW Im very interested in that rubber bead that hold plastic in place. I've been searching high and low for that, I saw a guy on YouTube do some hack (don't remember what) with this thing but can't find it anymore. If anyone know where I can find that (Zman use this on Zman hook call it bait keeper) please let me know. Quote
Tim Kelly Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 I don't know what it's called, I just call it a dropshot knot. I was shown it 10 or more years ago by a Dutch friend when I was fishing in Holland with him. For all it's simplicity, it's a surprisingly strong knot. I don't remember ever breaking off at the hook with it. Found a video of it. 1 Quote

As far as the rubber bead goes, could you use a rubber bobber stop? 6 hours ago, Tim Kelly said: I don't know what it's called, I just call it a dropshot knot. I'm going to try this knot out when dropshotting and if I have no problems, probably send the palomar packing out of my knot arsenal. 1 Quote
