I'm looking at 19' glass boats (Triton and Stratos) and am wondering if anybody has any experience towing a boat this size on a single axle trailer with a Toyota Tacoma 3.4L V6.

My '95 V6 4X4 Tacoma is rated at 5000 lbs towing capacity, 190 horsepower, and it produces 220 lb·ft of torque.

Anybody pull with a V6 Tacoma?

I do, you should have no issues. I pull a 1500 pound aluminum boat and a 3500 pound saltwater Wellcraft v-20 steplift.  You can tell the difference between the two for sure, but it does it with no problems.

I see quite a few 20' glass boats being pulled by Taco's around here.

Heck, a friend of mine used to pull an 18' camper with a Taco.

They'll pull pretty good.  I wouldn't do more than 2500 lbs. with one though, and even then only with brakes.

I've been towing with a '05 4dr Taco since I bought it new.  Boat is a '98 Triton Tr20.  Absolutely ZERO problems.  Current ratings for the 2008 model is 4.0L V6, 236HP, 266 ft lb torque, rated at 6500 lb towing with the HD towing package.  I've got all that and it's GREAT!!

Thanks, these are the kind of responses I needed to hear. I knew the truck could probably handle it, just wanted to hear of some first hand accounts.

Get the 5-spd auto tranny.  My gas mileage is 19-20 in everyday driving, and 24 on long trips.  Towing I get around 14.
