Super User Sam Posted August 4, 2018 Super User Posted August 4, 2018 At dinner tonight my wife told me that she had something to share with me. Seems the ghost is back. Nice ghost. No problems. But he is back. My wife told me that last Saturday when our grandkids stayed over for the weekend, my 6 year old granddaughter asked my wife is she smokes. No, my wife nor I smoke. But the ghost smoked. And that is what Marlee smelled in the family room while watching the Disney channel. We have smelled it many times before. It smells like pipe tobacco. Then, last Sunday, my 7 year old grandson told my wife that he felt someone was watching him as he played and did his art work upstairs in the guest bedroom and my man cave. I have felt that I was being watched a few months ago but nothing happened so I forgot about it. But Fisher felt like he was being watched and he was a little upset about it. Spooky. This week my wife decided to can some tomatoes from our garden and from Hanover County. My wife told me that last night (Friday) while she was in the kitchen putting the jars of tomatoes on the counter to cool the big black canning pot that was filled with water moved on the stove about a half-inch. And there was no reason for a canning pot full of water go move. And it took a lot of power to move the large black pot that is filled with water. And she did not touch it. Our home is on land that was once a large plantation. As I have posted before, there are three cemeteries on the property. So far they have found one white and one slave cemetery but they can't find the third one, the second white cemetery. I think I have an idea of where it is. So we will put up with the ghost until we get annoyed and I yell at it to go away. And he disappears for a few months, only to return. I wish he would leave me clues as to where the bass are when I go fishing. 2 Quote

There are just too many unexplained pictures, stories, etc. I kind of doubt bigfoot is real though... 1 Quote

Super User N Florida Mike Posted August 15, 2018 Super User Posted August 15, 2018 I smell cigar smoke in my house every now and then.I think its because a former owner smoked them. Cant connect the dots on what causes it to flare up from time to time. 1 Quote

jbmaine Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 I think A-JAY might have heard of this. Back in the 1970's I worked with a guy who had served in the Coast Guard. He swore the light house at the Isles of Shoals was haunted. He served out there when it was a manned station. The generator was in a separate building, and the main power disconnect was an old fashioned two lever switch that took real effort to move. More than once my buddy was sitting down to eat with the rest of the crew and the power died. They found the switch pulled down to the off position. They even tied a rope to it to keep it from moving, it still turned off. 3 Quote

Not to hi-jack Sam's thread but from 1983-85 I was a small boat coxswain at the USCG Search & Rescue Station right there in Newburyport, MA. Many times when the Merrimac river Bar was breaking too big to get back in, while wait the 6 hrs for the tide to turn, we would go out to the Isle Of Shoals, tie up and check it out. Doing at night was a heck of deal. Place surely seemed like there was always someone watching us despite the place had been deserted at that point for some time. Oh the times we had. Thanks @jbmaine for allowing me to take a walk down memory lane. Btw - running that river & Breaking bar at night was wild - especially in the winter with Volkswagen sized sections of Iceburgs tumbling around in the waves with us. Talk about scary !
