Jim Sutter Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 When fishing a Curly Tail Grub on a 1/8 oz. Strike King shaky head, is it OK to attached the grub to my line using a clip? Quote
Todd2 Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 I'm not a fan of clips. I just like direct to the lure. I'm sure you could though. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted August 1, 2018 Super User Posted August 1, 2018 The only thing about the clip, or a snap, is that when you snag your jig and curly tail, you will lose the clip as well as the jig and plastic when you have to break it off. Quote
Super User burrows Posted August 1, 2018 Super User Posted August 1, 2018 You will also loose sensitivity with a clip attached to your shaky head. Tie directly to the shaky head jig always. Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted August 2, 2018 Super User Posted August 2, 2018 I have never thrown a grub on a shaky head. I always Texas rig mine. When I do fish a shaky head I always use a direct line tie. You will need to keep a check your line for bad spots when fishing a shaky head. If you use a clip or snap to attach the head people forget about checking their line. Quote
Jim Sutter Posted August 2, 2018 Author Posted August 2, 2018 (edited) Todd2, Scott F, Burros and Short Fish, Thank you for you replies. I will not use a clip. Instead, I will tie direct to the shaky head. I appreciate your advise. You folks take care and have a great evening. Edited August 2, 2018 by Jim Sutter missed spelled 1 Quote
