How many of you people use braid with a leader on your Texas rigs?

The last two weeks I've been using one rod rigged with 30lb Power Pro to a 15lb leader tied with an FG knot, and the other straight 15lb mono.

I really like using the braid to leader set up. I usually have to re-tie on a leader during the day because I fish through some rough stuff and re-tie as my leader gets frayed.

I use 50 lb braid to 20 lb mono 6-8 ft leader with a few of my setups.  The only reason I re-tie a leader is when it gets too short from changing lures.

Most of my FG knots have been tied for the past 10 trips or so and look brand new.

I am pretty die hard with this knot, and doubt I will ever use anything else.

What type of finishing knot are you using?

FG always. Same with me regarding my leaders. When they get to be about 2’ I tie a new one on.

I use 30 lb braid, and an FG knot tied to a 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid leader.  I find the YZH more abrasion resistant than mono, and better knot strength than fluoro.

Never...but whatever works for you is the way to go ?

I have a combination of braid and mono on spinning reels. Mono for baitcasters. I run straight line on all...no leaders ever. "Leaders are the devil." in mama's voice.

I don't usually use a leader for texas rigging but it's because the areas I fish don't really require it. I would probably end up tying one if I was fishing rock or extremely clear water. I use braid often and I'd rather not fray off a fish.

I use straight flouro for Texas rigs. Never used a leader before and can't see myself doing it anytime soon. We dont have clear water in Virginia and I'd rather have just one knot to worry about.
