They may not be but only because Trubisky isn't far enough along as he should be.

Nagy's offense is complicated, Fox did him no favors and put his growth back.

PREACH!! It hurts every time I watch a Mahomes highlight and think we moved up to draft Trubisky before Mahomes was picked, but we have to believe Mitchell will keep improving. I just wish he was more consistently accurate.

 

We WILL beat the Packers on Sunday and be crowned division champs! Defeat is not an option!!!!!!!!!

You might beat the pack Sunday, but mitch will never be better than average. Watching him play, I don't think he has the smarts.

Interesting opinion. Not sure how you are measuring his intelligence by watching him play though, especially the limited view of the field you have on television. And Wonderlic test scores are very hit and miss. Some of the highest scores are QBs I've never heard of and some of the lowest scores are HOF QBs.

I'm going by watching his play. He doesnt make good reads at all and often makes poor decisions. His fallback is to run and that's not gonna end up well. Perhaps he'll turn the corner but hes had a couple years with no change in his play, so doesnt look good.  They will probably give him a season or 2 more because of where they drafted him, but after next year if he doesn't have any improvement, they'll be drafting another guy. Jay Cutler played better for them than mitch does. Mitch just has a superior defense, Cutler did not.

I absolutely respect your opinion. On my TV I can't see downfield and don't know if Trubisky made a bad read or missed an opportunity unless the announcers show it on a replay and talk about it. What I do see are too many inaccurate throws. But you won't find many Bears fans that would rather have Cutler. I'll take Mitchell's youth, enthusiasm, passion and leadership all day over Cutler's shrugging and pouting. And from what I've seen on the interwebs the team culture inside the locker room and at Halas Hall is intoxicating. And Mitch is right in the middle of it.

 

He only has 23 career starts and only 11 starts in Nagy's offense. In a couple years I might be eating my hat and saying you were correct. But as a Bears fan, for my sanity I have to look at this with rose-colored glasses and believe we will have an above average QB that can help us win a Superbowl, not a Blake Bortles.......

It's not going to this year unfortunately. This year wasn't supposed to be like this, I thought 9-7 was their absolute ceiling with a new QB, so they've already exceeded that. Their playmakers are still young minus Kelce but TE is a position that doesn't have to be a young speedster. Their future could be really bright if they get a good DC and better LBs and secondary.

You nailed it.  Just need to keep the team together, work through the free agent market and make wise draft picks.  Think with our fantastic QB it will be much easier to entice top talent.  The future looks good, amazing season.

Kc Defense looked better in the first half than the second. As a TN alum, I should point out that Eric berry played the first half and sat the second. Coincidence?I don't know but That guy has been through a lot, good to see him lead the team in tackles for the first half.

I noticed that also, not sure why, maybe better adjustments by the other team.    I was really nice to see Berry on the field, he is an inspiration to his team mates.  I don't want to be to critical because it was his first game back, but I think the number of tackles he made might have a little something to do with him struggling a little with his coverage.  In other words he had to make the tackle as a result of allowing the reception.  Maybe we will make a little noise it the playoffs this year, that would sure be fun.

Chiefs are repeating last season.

 

The Chiefs secondary is terrible and everyone knows it. The league has caught on to all of the trick plays.

 

Unfortunately, if the Chiefs are ever able to put together a strong secondary the heavy hitters on the line will probably have already moved on.

Every game I see Pat Mahomes in he makes incredible plays look easy. But I have to say that I said the same thing about Colin Kaepernick, Nick Foles, Steve Beuerlein, Robert Griffin and a lot of other QBs that, although they looked good for a few seasons, eventually faded. The NFL coaches have a way of creating countermeasures to offset talented opponents.

Vikings fan here.  Can't say I'm jumping for joy about the Bears winning the division, but I'm glad the Packers didn't.  I think the Bears are pretty locked into that #3 seed (barring a collapse from LA and NO) so its looking more likely that the Vikings will be visiting Soldier Field in the Wild Card round.
