Hello, Its been a long time. I have been away from fishing for over 30 years for I devoted myself to blacksmithing/armoring. Building medieval armor for reenactors to beet each other up and enjoy doing it. I was raised up around bass fishing all my younger life and even entered a few tournaments as I got older. My Father was Jack K Smithwick's pro rep back in the late 50s and early 60s and I never had to purchase a lure back then. Now I am looking at designing and custom building lures as a hobby. I was proud to see that one of my suggestions back then became a production lure called the Chug Horse. I suggested a blend between the carrot top and the larger devil horse. I was given several of them off the fist run, and unfortunately all my fishing equipment was stolen when I lived in KY. I had several antiques like original buck & Bawl Jrs as well, ( the flat face ones ).

But now the bug has bitten again and my wife thinks I nuts for all the tackle I had purchased. Now I know that the Devil lives on Ebay with all that temptation of the lures that are no longer in production. But I have yet to see a flat face buck & bawl Jr. But I did find one in a yard sale that I can use as a pattern.

I look forward to teaching my granddaughter what I know aaa Remember and a lot of practice for myself.

Alan B the prodigal son for fishing.

Welcome back to the water and to the forum Alan ...your granddaughter is a lucky little gal! Doing the same with my grandsons; moments to cherish for sure. ?

Someone more clever than I said...The world needs more tackleboxes and fewer X boxes.

Welcome to the forum. My daughter and son still fish and hunt with me. All my kin grew up hunting and fishing to gather. You might call it a "Family Tradition". I no we grew up with go family values and that's what I instill in mind. I thank you and everyone who is still able to spend time with your children or grandchildren.
