I’m new to this forum but I’m starting to get into big Swimbaits and while throwing them on a casting rod is fine I’ve always been more confident and felt better with a spinning rod. I know they make spinning rods beefy enough to handle those big swimbaits but im only 17 years old and not makin much money, are there any rods that are under around 50 bucks maybe a lil higher that can cast these decently. I’ll mostly be throwing nothing over 7” and most is 2 ounces but I might chuck a 3 ounze just depends on what I can get.

Zebco Bite Alert Spinning Combo, $50, a whopping 2 bearings. Can handle 17-50 lb line and throw 1-8 oz. I think it’s a size 60 reel with 16 lb drag. It’s actually smoother than you’d think, it even comes prespooled with 20lb line. I use it for A-rigs, my iBobber and other large baits.
