For topwaters of that size I like 15lb straight mono, but a little heavier or lighter is fine.  30lb braid is popular too and works well

Do you think 10lb braid is to light

No. Just tie a good knot. I throw the 90 on my Squarebill and Lipless rod. 12lb mono. Never have had a problem.

10 lb braid is to light and if you get a backlash it will break off.  I have used mine on 30 pp, 14lb xl or 10lb yhb.  They all work just fine.

My reel  recommends using 8lb and 10lb braid what happened if the I  exceed that

I’m currently using 10lb power pro braid.

Are you using a baitcaster? If so, 10lb. braid is way too light.

Never seen a reel that recommends braid but the new ones may. If spinning the 20 is my favorite size, on a small bait caster like alphas 30 is good and 40 on a full size bait caster and up.  Doing any harm is unlikely but possible I have only damaged one spinning reel that had braid on it and it was on a bait that was a single hook that I gave more heat than I should have on the set.  Braid is strong but light braid does not take shocks well. I still have casted off lures with 20 on an alphas but nothing 30 and up.  I use a lot of 8 Carrier but the 20 cast off was a 6 carrier braid.  Dont know factually how different carriers effect shock performance but very curious.

I use 10lb braid on spinning reel, 20lb braid on baitcaster for the 90 size.

30 lb power pro.  Never had an issue.

20 lb Sufix 832 is my standard on bass spinning reels for most techniques, including topwaters.  I bank fish and just use 2 to 3 rods every time out, so I lean towards versatility .  I use 10 lb 832 on a lighter outfit for more finesse stuff.
