I don’t like storing my square bills together because I don’t like them banging up against each other or getting hook rash. I been looking for a bait box for square bills mainly 1.5s and was wondering about this box? I don’t know if it’s mainly for terminal tackle or crankbaits? I’m not looking for the bassmafia deep coffin because I’m only planning on storing square bills 1.5 and not deep divers or jerkbaits. I only see ppl using them for terminal tackle on YouTube? Any one use these boxes.

Pls delete if considered spam don’t want to get in trouble?

While I do believe Bass Mafia makes a quality product it comes with a fairly Premium price.

I've been using Plano Pro Latch Utility Tackle Boxes for a while and do like them.

Sizes 3700, 3701 & and 3750 (see below with squarebills) handles the majority of my needs perfectly for about a third of the cost.

And because I also "I don’t like them banging up against each other or getting hook rash" nor am I a fan of a tangled mess, this year I started using small rubber bands to pin the treble hooks together on each bait.

Clearly takes a couple of seconds to put them on & off each time I use &/or put away a bait but it has all but Eliminated what you've described as a problem.

btw- a career supply of rubber bands might set you back like 3 bucks . . .

Something to consider  . . . .

Agreed! This is also my favored approach currently. Plano 3700 and 3750 with rubber bands on each bait. It's clean and easy and affordable. By the way I like that Assortmemt of natural bluegill patterns !

Thanks ~ I've become somewhat 'hooked' on this as well.

Over the winter I banded up the 'entire' hard bait / treble hook arsenal; All the cranks, jerkbaits, topwaters, even blade bait & spybaits.

Hoping to feed some of those squarebills to a few of the local and fatter brown bass population here starting in about 3 weeks.

Fingers crossed.

I use an alternative solution for your problem...Just pack the boxes so full that moving around and banging against each other is impossible ;).

Seriously though, the Bass Mafia Coffin is good for what you want to do since it has so many divider options.  I'd look at the Plano FTO boxes for this too.

I used to use Coffins for my hardbaits but I got rid of them because the outside dimensions are bigger but the inside dimensions are smaller compared to normal 3700's...So they don't fit in most 3700 slots (like the ones in my boat) but hold less tackle.  I still think the Coffin is the best option for terminal tackle though and still use one for that.

I do put dental rubber bands on my baits but the hooks still will rub up against each other I’m just crazy like that I wanted a 3700 that a could fit at least 30 square bills individually or more but that’s not gonna happen not in a 3700 and I called tw and asked them specifically about the bass mafia bait coffin not the deep and he told me that that box is better for terminal tackle.

Some company out there should make a box specifically for 1.5s in a 3700 it is definitely possible.

30 would be tough if you wanted to keep them individually in a 3700 size...The space just isn't there to give each one a slot

Check out the Plano FTO boxes.  They don't store baits individually, but they don't rub or bang against each other.  The hooks go into the slots so you get the rubber-band effect without having to use rubber bands.  They're nice boxes - Hold a decent amount of baits and prevent tangles.

I was able to fit a few more square bills in this bass mafia casket 3700 individually? Like 5 more than my phlambue box? As for the longevity of the box we’ll probably not as strong as a Plano but it will work?

I use the 3700 coffin for squarebills. I think I have 25-30 in there. I have hook bonnets on all mine. Hook rash is a non issue.
