I've found some of these soft plastics called "smartbaits" at my local tackle store, and they're supposed to change color when put in cooler and warmer water. The color changing is supposed to catch more fish, but I'm not sure if it helps. They're also pretty pricey. I was wondering if anyone knew about these baits and if the colour changing really helps.

Thanks

I don't know..

Seems more like another gimmick lure we hear about every few years.

They may have their niche but it doesn't take long to tie something else on if I wanted to experiment and junk fish for an afternoon.

Just not for me

Do they colors change....yep.  I've caught many of bass on their stick baits, but in my opinion the same cast with a different brand of stick bait would have worked as well.

Received a couple of their products at last years BBWC.

The clever crank 40 and brainy bugger. They do change color as wvu said and have caught some fish with them. Didn’t notice any difference in catch rate and at this moment are not even in my tackle box and are sitting in the garage with all the other  baits/lures not being used.

Current price point to expensive for me also.
