I was a bit disappointed by the new lures this year. I was hoping for something new, different, and revolutionary. Seems like everyone is trying to copy something that is already offered. Maybe we are getting beyond the realm of innovative lures. There is only so many ways to make a minnow plug, crankbait, topwater, spinnerbait, spoon, or plastic creature/worm and we already have every color available. Your thoughts?

Maybe not new and innovative but I like Berkley's slew of new baits...especially the top water as they have similar designs to some of the most popular current lures for about half-price and if they perform just as good that will be a HUGE cost savings for a lot of anglers!

I can appreciate companies like Berkley taking designs and making them more budget friendly but I also agree with OP, from a purely lure-design perspective, I was pretty disappointed as well.

I've mentioned it a few times but the Omega Genesis spinnerbait is a "Game Changer" IMO. I have one to try from a friend. You can bend the wire to create any profile you desire and it can be bent back without memory. It also comes with quick release clasps to make bladed changes within seconds. I could see myself having just a couple baits and a handful of different size and shape blades to switch out as needed.

There were a few bright spots at ICAST '18 , mainly from Berkley, Z-MAN and a few others ... I really don't need anything but always will look and listen !

I'm most excited for the new Zman products. They might as well have a direct deposit setup from my bank account at this point.

The Kolt Glider from Biovex caught my attention.  I have never heard of these guys and the bait is not like all the other senko/stick baits.  I think it's supposed to make bubbles when it falls.  Could be pretty cool.
