So this year I’m trying to expand my bass rods and reels to make fishing a little easier. The reels I’ve got are:

Daiwa Tatula CT100 6.3:1 currently paired with a 6’10” MHF Abu rod that I plan on using for slower techniques- crankbaits, spinners, etc.

Lews Speed Spool Tournament MB 7.5:1. Initially I bought this for flipping/pitching/frogging, but I purchased another reel to test (I’ll mention soon). I really don’t know what rod to pair with this, or what the ideal techniques I can use this for are so I need help here.

KastKing Speed Demon 9.3:1, paired with a 7’6” Shimano Exage HF for flipping/pitching/frogging. I’ve read mixed reviews on the KastKing so I figured I’d give it a try myself.

Any help on that middle reel setup would be great! Or tips on the other setups and where I can improve!

May be a finesse rod and reel setup....  Not sure what your budget is but...

A Fenwick HMG 7' M Fast and a Shimano Citica 200.  The rod is usually about $80-100 and the reel can sometimes be found for about $110-125. This should work great for weightless soft plastic and small jigs.

I always have a spinning set up with me.

I’m primarily stuck on the bank. So moving around means I usually on take 2 or 3 set up with me. What I take varies depending if I’m going to a pond / lake or a creek. I’ll just list my 3 main combos and the applications.

Shimano Stradic w/ 7’ Helium 3 medium XFast - flukes, wacky rigs, ned rig, drop shot, senkos

6.3:1 Daiwa Zillion (the OG version) w/ a 6’11” Kistler KLX reel and feel MH - Teckel Frog, whopper plopper, buzz baits, chatterbaits, lipless cranks, med depth cranks

7.9:1 Daiwa SV 103 w / 7’ Helium 3 Heavy X fast - (this one is rated from 3/8 - 1 1/2) jigs, t rigs, and frogging

I have four other setups but these three are what I usually carry

First....:welcome: to the forum.

Three possibilities.

ML or M spinning rod for finesse

Crankbait rod

MF baitcast rod

I'd be a little leery using the MHF Abu for crankbaits.  Which rod is it?  Most Abu rods are known to fish heavy.  It should do well with bottom baits.  If you decide to go that route I'd put the MB on it.  Otherwise I'd put it on the MF rod.
