I used senkos for years and loved them. One day the tackle store  wes out of senkos in watermelon red so I decided to try the yums. Didn’t notice a difference in catch rate. Now I use yum because they are half the price.

I think they both have their pluses and minuses.

For me, I prefer the senko.  It just catches fish.  It could be I have more confidence in it.  I would like to think it has better action and it just tastes better to bass (I don't know).  On the down side it is way more expensive and it last about one catch and it's toast.

As far as the Dinger goes, it's cheaper and it is more durable.  I just don't catch as many fish with it.  I also think that it sinks differently than a senko, almost straight down instead of a side to side motion, which causes less bites.

I would try both in similar colors and see which works best for you.

I tried Yums too. Just didn’t have the success like Senkos.

But this makes me think I’ll give them another try.

One difference I have noticed is that the Senkos are so loaded with salt that they sink faster than Dingers.

This is true. Senkos do sink faster than yum dingers.

I use Dingers 99% of the time, and have for years. You can make dingers heavier by adding nail weights, fishing them on wacky jigs, using bullet weights, etc.... But you can't make a Senko lighter. But Senkos excel at making your wallet lighter. I have won and cashed in a lot of tournaments fishing BEHIND guys throwing Senkos with Dingers.

It's true, an un-weighted dinger sinks almost motionless, and some days, especially in cold clear water that WILL get more bites than a senko. But here's the magic of a dinger....you can tune them. You want the same wiggle as a weightless senko? No problem, fish it on a 1/16th oz. wacky jig, or  texas rigged on a belly weighted 1/16th oz VMC drop dead hook, and you'll get your wiggle. Dingers are also a superior choice for fishing in heavy cover. You'll ruin half a pack of senkos flipping/pitching/etc. with them in heavy cover, not only will dingers hold up to the rigors of being yanked in and out of cover for hours on end, you'll actually catch fish with them before they are ruined.

I'll put my dinger results up against anyone's Senko results. Don't mistake my confidence in the dinger for arrogance, the dinger is a more versatile tool if you understand how to use it.

YUM Dinger. It caught my first bass. It worked so I haven't changed it. I don't doubt Senkos are equally good.

Yep, what Troy said .... BPS had Dingers on sale for $2.19 per bag and I use them almost exclusively now.  I don’t notice any catch rate difference.

Senkos wobble on the drop. Do Dingers do the same?

See above comment on tuning.  Heck, just about anything will wobble if you want it to ;)

I'm a dinger guy - I'll find em on sale for 1.99 a pack and then buy in bulk.  Would much rather do that than spend three to four times as much on senkos when dingers catch bass for me just fine.  That cost difference widens even more when you consider the durability of dingers vs senkos.

I should add, that I also try my best to avoid using plastics altogether, because I enjoy using hard baits/spinners/chatterbaits/frogs, etc. more; although, it inevitably will happen during an outing especially if the bite is tough.

I started with Senkos, bought some Dingers when I noticed the price difference and eventually went back to Senko's.  I'm not sure why, I just catch more & larger fish with Senko's.
