How hot is it during the night? I would probably fish more at night and not during the day if I lived in a location where it was over 100 degrees during the day. Goes to show you that South Florida is not that bad when it comes to the heat and makes me appreciate the weather we been having this summer. Also helps that the fishing has been extremely good for me this summer, hopefully it continues to rain like it has the past couple days. 1 Quote
Super User burrows Posted August 1, 2018 Super User Posted August 1, 2018 Not that bad nation wide at this present time. Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted August 1, 2018 Super User Posted August 1, 2018 Amazing how so many states north of South Florida have much hotter temperatures, many with little rain. Quote

What makes Florida and the Southeast unique is the humidity in the Southeast is unmatched, whereas Arizona, New Mexico, and parts of California are hot and dry. For example, where I live humidity is usually north of 50% to 99%. If you looked it up it shows Atlanta, GA receives north of 50 inches of annual rainfall versus LA is around 20 inches. One of the major difference is the Southeast is getting a lot of rainfall as of lately thus keeping the summer temperatures down as we constantly see 90-100+ with high humidity. The climate of Florida is subtropical with South Florida having a tropical climate. Ultimately, both can be miserable at times. 2 Quote
crypt Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Night fishing has been awesome this summer. I work out side and the heat doesn't bother me as much as some other people. 1 Quote

This summer has been better than normal for me when it comes to bass fishing. It's been raining a lot lately where I fish in South Florida and cloudy, rainy days tend to be cooler than sunny, rainless days. 10 hours ago, Jelvas said: 86 fahrenheit last night. Florida gets cool breezes from both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico which helps keep the temperature lower than many similar areas. I rather have hot, humid, rainy weather than live somewhere with higher heat, dry, very little rain, water shortages, and huge forest fires caused by drought. 1 Quote

I have never been all along the east coast but never been out west other than Las Vegas. From my experience, the Southeast hot and humid climate (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, etc) is worse than anything I have experienced anywhere else. While both can be uncomfortable, I think hot and humid is at time almost unbearable. Currently, it's not too bad though. Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted August 3, 2018 Super User Posted August 3, 2018 South Florida is having a huge population growth from people from certain Western,Northern, and Eastern states. They seem to like our weather(and other things) enough to move here, not many people are moving to those states though. I don't blame them for moving to South Florida since this area of the state is paradise for much more than the weather and fishing. 1 Quote

Would be nice seeing them get water balloons dropped on them. 15 hours ago, Jelvas said: 120ºf today... locked inside with the ac working full time, if you go outside... you melt!!!! That's not good. I been reading about the recent weather in Europe and learned that Europe is been having record breaking heat in many locations. Guess I won't be visiting Europe in the summer anytime soon and would need to go during the winter. 1 Quote
