So as a bday present to my self I picked up Step by step rod building put out by flex coat.  I’ve been wanting to build a rod for like 5 years.  After reading this manual/book it dosent look so intimidating ( I don’t know why I didn’t want buy it sooner).  I am thinking a winter project for a start date.  Is there any other reading material or you tube videos I should watch? I know about mudhole, Janns etc..  I’m not looking to start business or do this for a living.  Maybe build a rod every once in a while if it goes good.  I think a worming rod would be nice to have.

Tom Kirkman's Rod Building Guide is another short but great read.

Get Bit Outdoors had a pretty good little video series.

I think Bill Batson at Batson Enterprises did a small series of videos a few years back, but I'm not too sure where to dig them up these days.  His finishing technique video(s) was very good.

Building is not terribly complicated, and is a great hobby!  You'll find yourself hooked, pun intended, very quickly.
