So as a bday present to my self I picked Step by step rod building put out by flex coat.  I’ve been wanting to build a rod for like 5 years.  After reading this manual/book it dosent look so intimidating ( I don’t know why I didn’t want but it sooner).  I am thinking a winter project for a start date.  Is there any other reading material or you tube videos I should watch? I know about mudhole, Janna etc..  I’m not looking to start business or do this for a living.  Maybe build a rod every once in a while.  I think a worming rod would be nice to have.

Both mudhole and getbit have youtube playlists that go over the basics of putting rods together.  There's a youtube vid for just about everything ?

Youtube has a lot of info on it, but there's also a lot of bad info about rodbuilding practices on there.  If you stick to the Mudhole and GetBit stuff you should be just fine.  Also, Tom Kirkman's book "Rod-building Guide" is a good place to get started.

If you're not easily offended, step over to FaceBook and look up the NERBS group (NorthEast Rod Builders).  Lots of good stuff going on there.

Oops, my reply is on the duplicate thread, but didn't add much beyond what is already written above.
