For the first time, anglers will have the option to select a Minn Kota Ulterra™, Terrova®, Ultrex™ or Fortrex® trolling motor with Built-In MEGA Down Imaging sonar. The Humminbird MEGA Down Imaging transducer will now be integrated into the trolling motor to provide a clean set up at the bow for anglers. Humminbird’s ultra-clear MEGA Imaging™ is the first Down Imaging technology to enter the megahertz range with performance that’s nearly three times greater than traditional 455 kHz frequencies. It results in the clearest, sharpest on-screen images ever seen.

You can thank me for this.  I'm sure Minn Kota has been holding this for years waiting for me to buy an Ultrex without this feature.  I bought it in May so now they can release it.

Seriously,  I would love to have it as an option but I'm not sure I would use it that much.  I spend most of my time looking at 360 imaging in the front of the boat.

OK - Well Thank You and I'm seriously glad I waited.

Awe what a bait and switch. The picture I posted a couple days ago didn't show the transducer (I know it was by design and would've been a dead giveaway).

I imagine this will be a big hit. I'm wondering how long it'll be before one gets shipped to northern Michigan?

Now they just need wireless foot pedals!

They already do. Both Minn Kota and Motorguide do. I have one and hate the wireless foot pedal.

I have a 2017 Ulterra, didn’t see the wireless foot pedal ones.

Or is it an extra accessory?

Let me retract my statement and say I know Motorguide has trolling motors with wireless foot control. I'm not familiar with Minn Kota's models but I have to imagine they have at least one model with wireless foot control.

Trust me you're not missing much. I just use my key fob which can be a pain when fighting a big fish or cranking on windy days.

No side imaging?  Meh.

I never understood how side imaging is useful at the bow since the trolling motor is always turning.  I guess it works when you are going in a straight line but I would think it would mess the image up as soon as it turns even the slightest.

It's too bad they don't offer this for other finder manufacturers than HB.

I've had side imaging on the bow for several years now, and i use it more than almost any other view when in shallower water. If you're just turning slightly it doesn't screw up the image too much, and it's amazing how much stuff you'd miss if you were just on di or regular sonar. Works great to see weeds, trees, boulders other structure off to the side. Maybe SI will be next years big "game changer" icast release ?.

O. I’m pretty sure Minn Kota doesn’t have it.

I only use my remote to stow and deploy from the driver seat otherwise I like the foot pedal better.

I like it!

The only reason I don't have DI on my Ulterra is that it needs an external transducer and even the best ways to do that are clunky and ugly...so the DI transducer site in a box...

It'd be cooler if it was offered as a retrofit.

I'm pretty excited about this. I literally had the 112 Ulterra in my cart ready to hit submit last week and chickened out. Pretty sure this is all the extra push I needed. Has anyone heard how much extra the transducer version will be?

Agreed, it's EXTREMELY useful up front.  Getting a side scan of a dock is a huge advantage.  I see something under there, and I'm really gonna tear that dock apart.
