I like to be able to use one rod for most techniques. The 15 lb 832 is only like 4 lb mono diameter, so it still casts like a dream. I have a question for you... I wanted to see if you had this experience since you are using 15 lb braid. I get they are different brand, but it should still be much the same. Quote

I have found that in the case of 832, the "20 lb" size is significantly harder to snap than the 15 lb. The 15 lb may in fact not break until 15 lbs is applied, but it seems the 20 lb size will break at much higher than 20 lb of force. There is a big difference, more than 5 pounds, in my experience. After I started really experiencing many more break offs with the 15 lb, I just have been using it for crappie and light walleye offerings. Quote
Super User NHBull Posted March 31, 2019 Super User Posted March 31, 2019 10 pound 832 on Med spinning gear and have never had a break off Quote
waymont Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 8,10, and 15lb power pro on all my spinning reels. I only use the FG knot to mono or fluorocarbon leaders. Never had one issue on any setup in 6 years. I never looked back after switching to braid. Quote
txchaser Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 15# yellow PP braid to 6ft of 6lb flouro (blue label), which I recently changed out for hybrid (yo zuri), and went up to 8 on the leader. Going back down to six, the yo-zuri is giant. I should have read the diameter. I didn't like the 6lb blue label flouro though, for lack of a better way to describe it, it seemed fragile... I've had pretty good results with a six-turn surgeon knot (you need the xtra turns for braid), which is nice because the FG is a mental beating to tie when I'm out fishing, and FG seems to have a lot of ways to get wrong especially with tiny line. Anyway, I really like the braid visibility, knowing where it'll break when I get hung, with very low visibility at the lure. Quote
Revival Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 10lb Sufix 832. I have also tried 20lb and 15lb but liking the 10b the most so far. Quote
