The most fish I caught in one day was 65 Smallmouth Bass. That was on a charter boat trip my Dad and I were on. Our guide really had us on the fish that day. I started keeping fishing logs (Fish type and numbers, bait used) once I got a smart phone. My goal each year is to catch 365 fish. Last year was the first year I missed that goal since I started logging catches. This year I am over halfway to my goal. Quote

My current record for most bass caught in 1 day is 149 bass that I caught from land in public waters in less than 6 hours of fishing. Could of surpassed 200 bass in 1 day if I wanted to but it is hard for me to just focus on bass when I have so much variety to choose from in South Florida. Might consider breaking this record when the conditions are right. Have had other +100 bass days and its nothing special to catch +20 bass in a regular day of fishing in many locations I fish. Probably have caught 1000's of bass in the years I have fished South Florida but have lost count of the exact number a long time ago. Spring time in South Florida is insane,100 avg is very common, like you said you can push it to 200 if you wanted to.Than summer comes lol PS- South Florida is closed in spring time, locals only? 1 1 Quote

Spring time is a great time for someone to catch +100 bass in a day when the water level is low. I also caught more or less the same amount of sunfish, Oscar, bowfin, and gar the day I caught 149 bass so there was a good chance I caught over 300 fish in less than 6 hours of fishing that day. Did not count those extra fish and only wrote down the bass on a piece of paper. Bass still bite very good during the summer time, you just have to find where they are hiding in and fish at night on very hot days.I don't blame the northerners and westerners for visiting South Florida since we have the best overall fishing opportunities in the USA. 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted July 20, 2018 Super User Posted July 20, 2018 I've had days where a bass is caught on about every cast . It seems like every fish in the lake is squeezed into one small area . One day in the late fall I predicted bass would be in the back of creeks . Thing is , the first two creeks zero but the third creek it was every cast . Even if a fish came off another would be on in a second . Quote
The Bassman Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Don't keep track of #'s but have had times that action was so good that it became work. Don't want to let my passion become a chore. By the way, it's 6:00 AM Sat. Time to grab my gear and get going. Dirty work but someone's got to do it. Quote

455 Racing Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 I've been keeping track for 11 years, and my record of 1171 in 2015 was beat by me last Friday. It has been an outstanding year for me fishing. I am at 1172 for the year and could end up with 1500. Use a 6 inch lizard, green or tan in color with an 1/8 oz weight and still try other lures, but always go back to my standard lizard lure. 1 Quote
