Looking for a true travel rod, casting and spinning to take on trips and can be hand carried on airlines.

In my search I have only come across the Daiwa Ardito and the Fenwick Methods (possibly discontinued?).

Would like to keep under $250.00 per rod.

Thanks for any input.

I keep a Diawa Ardito 7’ MF casting and an Okuma Citrix 7’2” ML/F spinning rod in my truck for those ‘just in case’ stops.

I don’t fish them often but find they’re as good as 1 piece rods.  The Diawa is typical Diawa fit & finish: excellent, and the Okuma is very good.  They both come with semi-hard cases and Jet Blue let me take them to Orlando as carry ons.  I had to check my tackle.

Hope this helps.  Good luck choosing a travel rod.

At that price, go custom.  I had three built on MHX blanks a few years ago at just under $200 per

I tend to break too many Rods to invest the time in making Rods and get what I want out of it

St. Croix 2 piece. No compromise bait-casting.

PC66MF2  6'6"  M Fast  1/4-3/4 Lure Wt.     $140.

Bought mine through eBay store out of Minneapolis - swansonbait.

If you can still find Methods, I highly recommend those. Took a couple with me to Baccarac, and they are really nice rods. I was very impressed with how they felt.

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind
