I want to set up 5 of my baitcast rod/reels to be technique specific. I am having a hard time deciding which reels I should use for these baits: Texas rigs, jigs, whopper plopers, buzz baits, poppers, spinner baits, chatter baits, small/medium sized swimbaits, crankbaits, jerkbaits, and lipless crankbaits.

The following reels I have are:

shimano curado k 7.4.1

shimano casitas    7.2.1

shimano curado k 6.2.1

shimano curado I 6.3.1

Old shimano citica bantam guessing its around a 5.1 speed (23 Inches per turn)

Which reels should I pair up with these specific baits?

I’d use the 7.2 and 7.4 for jigs and Texas rigs. The 5.1 for crankbaits and the 6.2 and 6.3 for everything else.

Single hooks:  MF or MHF/ 6:4 or faster reel

Treb le hooks:  Medium Heavy Moderate/ something less than 6:0
