You're guess is as good as mine. I got the email yesterday . I have been selling Cavitron Buzz Baits there for over 12 years  We sell tens of thousands of them each year. Yes they are probably the most expensive ones there but my American Made components are expensive. We had a good run but again I do not know what happened. Tackle Warehouse is selling thousands of them and other fine shops .again it was good while it lasted ,no hard feelings.

Earlier this year, Dick's was one of the main sponsors of the Bassmaster Classic.  If at all possible, I try to patronize those retailers and manufacturers who financially support professional bass fishing, I think it makes sense logically to do so.  Then, in February, DSG chose to stop selling AR-15's in a response to the school shooting in Florida.  That put me in a quandary because I also make it a habit to not patronize companies who blame legal gun owners for the actions of mass murderers.  Now not supporting a American-Made lure manufacturer for reasons other than sales puts another notch in the "don't buy from DSG" belt for me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say DSG doesn't have the right to choose whomever they want to do business with.  Nor would I ever encourage others to boycott a store for the reasons I choose to not do business with them, I believe group economic protests like that amount to extortion.  That said, I personally have no interest in doing business with them and will look at the monies they pay to sponsor any B.A.S.S. events as found money.

I’d like to see my local Dick’s lay off of the jawbone and lunkerhunt tackle and get some name brand stuff like BioSpawn, Reaction Innovation, Missile, and Rage Craw

Dicks used to have a decent fishing section with a lot of BOGO. Not anymore.

I used to stop in there every once and awhile.

Not anymore.

A friend of mine who makes custom jigs, told me earlier this year Dicks was supposedly transitioning from carrying the majority of same stuff at all locations to each store getting a budget to pick tackle, equipment, etc that is best suited for their area. They work off some sort of purchasing budget and they can pick what they want in their fishing department. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Well worth the american made components whatever the price is. Quality and performance. Love the Cavitrons. Keep on selling them Bobby. We will find where to buy them.

Hate to hear that.  It seems Dick's fishing section has gone down hill.  A lot of basic baits and colors are not being sold there anymore and it makes no sense.  I may have missed it but they no longer carry Shimano and maybe Daiwa reels.

None of the ones around me have ever carried them unfortunately. Doesn't matter, I've got a dozen or so hanging on my pegboard in the shop to go with the dozen in service in the boat, I should be good for a minute.

sad...  I have spent a ton of money in their fishing department over the years until the last time I stopped in about a year ago. The fishing department looked like the grocery stores after super storm sandy. I was in awe... there were more holes on the racks than there were baits. I hadn't been back, but after the whole AR15 debacle I've just sworn them off.

The difficult part now is trying to source all these awesome supplies either directly or through an outlet like tackle supply depot or tackle warehouse.  I hate not spending money at mom and pop stores, but the last time I was in one they had nothing I needed and everything was super expensive. Sigh. What's a redneck to do ?

I’m fortunate that we have a really good mom and pop store here. I thought about trying to save some money the other day on sale and such but in the end I bought 2 new reels plus line direct from them. They are actually very competively priced and the few extra bucks I did spend helps keep one hell of a store open

That's got a lot to do with it!

I worked for our local Academy for a couple years & getting the store manager to stock anything was near impossible.

He is a huge baseball fan & backs one of the local highschool teams that is a top ten program nationally.

During pre-spawn 1/3 or more of the fishing department was empty because it coincides with baseball season.

Dicks selection has been scaling back more and more every year for the past 3-4 years. It's sad to see brick and mortar stores continuing to scale back.

I went to my local DSG yesterday and they had some Cavitrons. Maybe they're just waiting to sell them and won't restock after... no idea. I already have a few though, not that I use them much right now, so I'm set on them for the time being.

The Dick' by me is stocked to the gills with Biospawn, Missile and Rage tail. I wash shocked as well with all the Z-man products TRD Ned Rig wise. The store's manager must be an avid bass fisherman.

Sounds about right, I have 2 DSGs 15 minutes from me in 2 different towns. One carries the bare minimum and the other stocked to the gills

had two DSG here...down to one..Academy is expanding...what's highly popular in one section of the country might not be in another....local autonomy for business decisions makes a lot sense...

good fishing...

Bobby - I discovered your buzzbaits at DSG's (as well as your scents) and have been a happy customer since !

I will continue to be loyal to these products and now will simply purchase them from TW ... Thanks for the update .

I talked to Dicks second in charge -They say we have good steady sales but are now looking at other options in buzz baits -I didnt think there was any LOL

Wait til you see the new Fishing With Roland Martin Show we just did on Cavitrons   What an action packed show with back to back 8lbrs-and plenty of 6-7s - No private lakes or anything like that -we just went fishing - CRUSHED THEM BASSES

I honestly dont know - I wish I was at ICAST but broke my ankle a few days ago so i can find out -

I wondered why the stock at my local DSG started to dwindle. That's unfortunate as there's not a buzzbait made that does what the Cavitron does.

Just know that I'll buy them wherever I can get them Bobby, no matter the retailer. But for your business I'm saying a prayer or two that you pick up some more distributors to get these great US made products in our hands.

They cut them right at the beginning of buzz bait time -HMMM -- Tackle warehouse just received another shipment including the new Clacker Model
