Hi, new member from Connecticut.  Been away from fishing for some time.  Did more saltwater fishing earlier in life (surf casting & breechway fishing) .  Took a few trips up in Maine to Bass fish with my Dad and brothers and I fell in love.  Life got pretty crazy with the kids and had to change priorities for a while so we haven't camped or fished in years...or golfed!

Not long ago I learned about a particular boat for sale so I went for it; totally spontaneous purchase, wife didn't even know.  So...I am a new first time boat owner with very little boat knowledge, so I’m a little nervous.  I recently finished the safe boating class to get my boating certificate (license).  The boat is pretty nice and the price was right so as I said, I showed up with it one day.  It’s a 1994 18’ Nitro with a Mercury 125 & Evinrude Trolling Motor.  Probably too big for a “first boat” but it is what it is.

I have two girls, one is in college the other will be a junior in High School.  Soon both will be busy and more interested in their own thing, so I am really looking forward enjoying hours on the water with my wife.  We have a few boat launches right in town, so there are plenty of opportunities very close to home.

I’m looking forward to being a part of this community to connect with folks all over and learn and share as much as I can.  Being a first time boat owner I will more than likely have many questions about the boat itself and operating it in the immediate future.  If you can recommend a website for boat parts/manuals/etc. please do share.

Thanks again for this opportunity, looking forward to being a part of this family.

i would be surprised if you can't find everything you need on ebay.  I always buy the service manual for my outboard.  If yours is not listed on ebay then just set up a search for it and anything else you need and have it send you an email when one is listed.
