LadiMopar Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 If Everett isn't too far for you I see a lot of guys on a striped bass forum talking about Fishing Finatics B&T for rod/reel repair and service. http://www.fishingfinatic.com The only other I could highly recommend is just over the border in Nashua NH Granite State Rod and Reel. http://granitestatetackle.wixsite.com/granitestatetackle Quote
JG233 Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Jeff, I send my gear out to DVT. I do go to Arlington Bait and Tackle for last minute senko buying. I like to throw him business. Nice guy, but he doesn't service reels. Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted July 5, 2018 Super User Posted July 5, 2018 Ditto on the sending my reels out to DVT. He’s cleaned and tuned most of my baitcasters. Mike’s work and pricing are excellent. He’s upgraded some of my reels too, always telling me what does/doesn’t need upgrading. I have The Sportsman’s Den near me for live bait, quick tackle purchases, and firearms. I don’t know if he services reels though. Quote

He has a great selection of stuff including lead free jigs and weighted hooks along with many lures you wouldn't expect a small shop to have. Rod is a great guy!! Quote
Janderson45 Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 I've recently started working on my baitcasting reels myself, a little bit of research, time and practice goes a long way. Perhaps not for everyone but now that I've cleaned/serviced and replaced numerous parts in my Reels I can't see spending money for someone else to do it. Quote
raoka Posted July 23, 2018 Author Posted July 23, 2018 i am not very mechanically inclined. last time i did it i put it back together and it didn't quite work the same...haha... Quote
"hamma" Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 over the last fifty years ive tried them all, some are good, all do their best, but,....Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle has outshined them all as far as im concerned,...He gets all my reels from now on. Steve at Als bait and tackle in beverly across from the public pier used to do my repairs and servicing and did a good job. But I haven't been up there in a few years and I'm not sure if he still services reels Quote
