Smalliefan2 Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 I use 6'8" St Croix Avid, M, XF with Revo S 30. 10# floro. Casts well, and drive the hook in. Enough flex so I don't lose too many fish. Quote

Have not used any HI - SEAS Grand Slam FC coated copolymer before , how does it handle on your Supreme XT 30 ? Thank you - the replies read like the : "who's who" of high end shaky head spinning rods (and for good reason) ... Megabass , St. Croix , G. Loomis , Shimano , Dobyns , etc. I'll take one of each (lol) ! Quote

Super User Boomstick Posted July 10, 2018 Super User Posted July 10, 2018 I will tend to use one of my M/F spinning rods with 8lb mono for shaky heads. I like a little extra power on shaky heads than I have on my ML/XF rods. Why not? *I ask because the current trend to use braid mainline + FC / Co-poly leader may mean a Fast spinning rod could replace a Extra Fast spinning rod or perhaps allow more ML action rods to come into play if you are in the braid + leader camp for spinning . Yeah, I have 12lb braid on one and 15lb on the other. I still have a lot more backbone on my M/F rods though. Quote
