Finicky_Bass Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Hello, I recently bought the 3/8 Arkie Jig in a Missouri Craw color. I was wondering what color trailer should I use, I was thinking maybe a pumpkin seed color but I´m not sure. Also if you have a personal preference on what type of trailer I should use that would be good too. I was probably going to use a Strike King Menace grub. Quote
Todd2 Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 I have no rules on the trailer color, sometimes I match it up, sometimes a little contrast seems to work. Throw something on and try it. I use the same jig in Bluegill color and a trailer that has been working is the Zoom Speed Craw in Sprayed Grass color. It's been working so I keep throwing it. You might try that if what you have doesn't work. 1 Quote
Lead Head Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Are you rigging some of those menace grubs vertically? I haven't got around to it yet but it's on my to do list for swim jigs and chatter baits and was just wondering if they still kick properly if rigged vertically. Seems like that would give off a really good baitfish profile. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted July 3, 2018 Super User Posted July 3, 2018 Green pumkin is what I use most of the time. Allen Quote

DSTN Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 My answer was green pumpkin before I saw the picture of the jig and still is. All the colors in Ajay's pic look pretty good. Quote

Lime green, black, purple, smoke grey and pink are all in this skirt and any of those will work, take your pick. Remember the bass eat this jig not other anglers. Tom ps, GYCB Cowboy #136-07-953 is my choice. 1 Quote

I'd put a green pumpkin or sapphire blue trailer on that jig. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted July 4, 2018 Super User Posted July 4, 2018 I'd use a watermelon based color to have it blend in but offer some subtle contrast. Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 4, 2018 Super User Posted July 4, 2018 Ya can go any direction ya want with that jig. Personally a hard candy color Quote
