Not a noticeable difference, I was using a St Croix medium spinning rod with a Plueger President reel.

The 75 weighs more than the 90, so I'd expect it casts like a bullet comparatively

The SLX 15 and 151 pull in 25-inches of line per crank, the SLX 150HG and 151HG retrieve in 29-inches, while the fastest retrieve 150XG and 151XG pulls in 32-inches per crank. The each reel handles from 150 yards of 20-pound to 105 yards of 40-pound PowerPro braid, or from 120 yards of 10-pound to 90 yards of 14-pound monofilament. All six SLX casting reels retail for $99.99 (USD).

 

Basically a caenan with an aluminum frame, graphite side plates, with a 150 size spool and longer handles. Not bad I think it will be a very good reel in the long run.

Man....I could do this stuff....put a spinner on an existing bait...or take skirt off and put a soft paddle tail on a buzz.....re-shape a hollow frog into the shape of a fish and add some plastic trailer trash to the back.....lots of new stuff ....much of it looks like Frankenstein stuff that a 12 year old made in his basement....whoa...but that clacker on a buzz bait!  Revolutionary

I read something about the “Tokyo Rig” a few years ago, but it had a different name. The article talked about how Japanese anglers are constantly having to innovate due to the extreme pressure that basically every body of water over there gets.

What’s the benefit of the 75 over the 90?

The zero adjuster is adjustable.  It takes more effort to turn to dissuade people from cranking down of the spool tension and making the reel perform poorly.  It's a dumb feature but probably needed.

I love it as I use reel covers and it seems like when putting them on and taking it off I end up accidentally "adjusting" my tension knob all the time. I would love it if I could rig all my casting reels to have a far stiffer knob.

Lowrance has been overshadowed by Garmin and Humminbirds’ offerings. I’m not even sure what they have, but I can go to their booth tomorrow.

Sounds like they've modified it to try and solve issues that people have with the 90. I like my 90s but they can be finicky sometimes.

The new Tatula rods & Tatula 100 reel looks pretty cool. I think Daiwa won in the rod & reel department this yea (for freshwater).

I honestly don't see how the tatula 100 could beat out the Curado 150 DC for best reel...that Curado is going to be amazing and retailers are going to have a very hard time keeping them in stock as well as Shimano will to keep production coming close to matching the demand!

I'm already thinking I'll pick up one of the new Daiwa 80 series reels, most likely the CG. Seems like these reels will cannibalize the other Daiwa  offerings at the same price point though.

I liked the new duckett silverado I bet that’s a dam good rod unfortunately duckett hasn’t been getting much attention. I believe they need to make some changes in their marketing. I’m not a fan of their cranking rods but other then that I really dig their rods very strong and sensitive.
