You read that wrong. It's called zero adjuster. It still has a CC knob adjuster but it comes pre-adjusted from the factory so all you have to do is move the brake dial on the non handle side plate to your liking. They have that feature on the Steez SV TW's. On the few I have, it comes set correctly and is actually very difficult to move so it stays in place.

Bobby Lane tweeted there is a new reel coming out Revo Rocket at 10:1 ratio that will move a bait at 40 in per turn. Will retail at $299.00.

Honestly the reels and rods get a lot of hype. I have seen em all Rock. In reality I've had shimano, citacas, etc for over 10 years  all the new extras on reels really didn't make that much of a difference in my fishing.  Remember the old green curados ,they are bullet proof ..Same with rods . I've bought the high dollar bells and whistles no need to over spend .

So the Berkley "Chopper" is a total Whopper Plopper ripoff? Even down to the name.

10:1 Reel - It will be like three turns and the lure is already back to be casted again.

All of the new Berkley topwaters look to be a knock off of something else that's out there.  But if the price is better then I'm all for it.  I like Berkley's Fusion19 hooks.

I heard that St. Croix is releasing a rod series that is made for kayaks called the mojo Yak

I hope that means short handles and and shorter then normal rod legnths.  I have yet to find a frog rod that I really like using in my yak.

It looks like the handle is shorter but the rod lengths are about the same, I saw 7’ and 7’6”.

Will they be debuting the new Sufix Advance Copolymer? I was debuted last year overseas I believe. And the only place I can find it is on aliexpress or ebay uk.

I'm very intrigued by it.

You owned a car for 4 years. You named it Brad. You loved Brad. And then you totaled him. You two had been through everything together. 2 boyfriends, 3 jobs, nothing could replace Brad. Then Liberty Mutual calls, and you break into your happy dance.

I believe the Sufix Advance was in the Bassmaster ICAST list. Looking forward to trying that more than anything else I've seen so far. But that is partially because I don't have funds in hand for a new Tatula.

Anyone else seen the strange colored new Berkley Lightning Rod Shock?

Was able to get a new Whopper Plopper 75's off a rep the other day. According to him they will be released sometime this fall.

When I heard they were coming out with a version smaller than the 90, I was disinterested.

But now after seeing it. Seeing that's it's wider, taller and makes more commotion than the 90, I'm quite intrigued.

I haven’t even tried the whopper plopper yet, is it better than the double plopper, prop turtle/frog, and suicide duck?

I've only thrown them briefly on a morning when the topwater bite was not on. I am going to throw them again tomorrow morning for some river smallies, we will see how it goes.

The masses are really going to like the steez frame.  I'm excited for this. Can't wait until ebay has a slew of them for $120.

New Shimano SLX Baitcasting Reels

fda26d81-6576-4e88-870d-32bc60516696_600x537.jpg

LADSON, S.C. – ICAST 2018 Introduction -- For anglers looking for a versatile, easy-to-use, lightweight and durable baitcasting reel, Shimano's new SLX reels are the one more fish, one more cast, ‘Can’t Stop Fishing’ option. The series is offered in six models in three different gear ratios, including the 6.3:1 SLX150 and left-hand retrieve SLX151, the high-speed SLX150HG and 151HG with 7.2:1 gears, and the SLX150XG and 151XG with extra high speed 8.2:1.

Designed around Shimano’s HAGANE body concept - meaning a solid and precise aluminum frame, the SLX compact body still allows for plenty of line capacity - up to 105 yards of 40-pound test PowerPro braid. Shimano’ proven six-spin style Variable Brake System provides spool and casting control, while the sideplate is attached to prevent it from falling off when adjustments are needed with lures and wind condition changes. Each comes with a ‘Curado K type’ long handle with power handle knobs. Even with the aluminum frame and durable brass gears, each reel weighs in at a light 6.9-ounces.

“We see the SLX series as being reels built by, and for, anglers who demand bulletproof, unrelenting durability in their fishing tackle,” said Kurt Mazurek with Shimano. “Using one, whether you're an avid high school or college bass angler, a weekend warrior, or even those who anxiously await that annual special fishing trip with friends, it’s the reel you’ll appreciate to make that just one more cast - it’s our ‘Can’t Stop Fishing’ baitcaster.”

The SLX 15 and 151 pull in 25-inches of line per crank, the SLX 150HG and 151HG retrieve in 29-inches, while the fastest retrieve 150XG and 151XG pulls in 32-inches per crank. The each reel handles from 150 yards of 20-pound to 105 yards of 40-pound PowerPro braid, or from 120 yards of 10-pound to 90 yards of 14-pound monofilament. All six SLX casting reels retail for $99.99 (USD).

RACINE, Wis.– Minn Kota®, the leader in trolling motor innovation, will debut built-In MEGA Down Imaging™ in its trolling motors at the American Sportfishing Association’s International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST).

For the first time, anglers will have the option to select a Minn Kota Ulterra™, Terrova®, Ultrex™ or Fortrex® trolling motor with Built-In MEGA Down Imaging sonar. The Humminbird® MEGA Down Imaging transducer will now be integrated into the trolling motor to provide a clean set up at the bow for anglers. Humminbird’s ultra-clear MEGA Imaging™ is the first Down Imaging technology to enter the megahertz range with performance that’s nearly three times greater than traditional 455 kHz frequencies. It results in the clearest, sharpest on-screen images ever seen.

With Built-In MEGA Down Imaging, the transducer is housed in the indestructible lower motor unit and the wiring runs through the composite shaft providing clean rigging that is protected from wear and tear. In addition, having the transducer integrated into the trolling motors allows anglers to see what is directly below the bow of the boat, allowing anglers to make better decisions on where, and how, to fish.

“The integration of Minn Kota and Humminbird products is part of our commitment to providing innovative solutions for anglers as they seek to find and catch more fish,” said Minn Kota Brand Manager Brad Henry.

As part of the One-Boat Network™, the new Minn Kota trolling motors with Built-In MEGA Down Imaging feature Bluetooth® and i-Pilot® Link™. Bluetooth compatibility allows anglers to control the trolling motor from the Minn Kota app and make software updates wirelessly. Anglers can utilize i-Pilot Link to control their trolling motor from the Humminbird unit, the app or the i-Pilot remote to “follow” a contour at a set speed – with the press of a button the boat will automatically follow the exact path.

The new trolling motors are compatible with Humminbird SOLIX®, second generation HELIX®, and ONIX®models and will be available in the fall of 2018. For more information visit MinnKotaMotors.com.

I caught 11 river smallies on the Bone 75 Whopper Plopper this morning.I really liked it, I did not have any issues with line twist or anything like that, I felt like my hookup ratio was better than the normal Whopper Plopper sizes (90 and 110) and when I did hook fish they were hooked solid.

Does it cast less distance than the 90 and 110?
