Super User tcbass Posted June 28, 2018 Super User Posted June 28, 2018 I use medium Owner CPS Twistlock Centering Pin Springs to nose-hook Zoom Super Flukes and to make my Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog Tails. However, I found Hyamass Spring Pin Twistlock. The ones on Amazon are are comparable to medium sized Owner CPSs. Anyone use the Hyamass ones, are they just as good as the Owner ones? They are different as the Owners have a bend in the top and the Hyamass are a full circle. Quote
Junger Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 I bought the Honbay 100piece version a while back. For $7, they're just fine, except only about 10% of them are straight. What I mean is, the centering pin isn't 100% centered, most of them are off center and pushing up against the spiral. It really doesn't affect the performance that much, it still does the job when it's screwed into the plastic. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 28, 2018 Global Moderator Posted June 28, 2018 I get some from China off Ebay that are like $2 for a 100 pack that work just fine. I pour them in shakyheads instead of standard screwlocks. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted June 28, 2018 Super User Posted June 28, 2018 I also bought some random china ones but maybe 60% of mine have a center pin bent enough to be annoying to get rigged stright. They now sit in a drawer and I am back to the Owner L ones for every plactic that will fit them. I tend to save up and buy a lot of “boring” tackle and accessories whenever I can find a 20% off sale. Brad in Texas Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 I use the Owner product but have seen these others a time or two. Sounds about right that the price would be cheaper, the quality a bit less making the reality of either purchase more in line, price-wise. By the way, I like a CPS twisted onto a 60 degree bent jig hook. That "points" the centering pin in the proper direction for hooking up baits. There are sources for these hooks where one can buy 50 of them very cheaply. Just be sure to get very sharp hooks. What would be ideal would be to have a 60 degree bent hook with a pretty long shaft length. That'd give a bass a really large area to snag the hook once it bites down. I sure like seeing what you guys/gals are also using these centering pins for. Some really novel approaches have been shared regarding uses other than as just attachments to hooks. Pretty cool! Look at the 7321 or 7329 hook on Barlows Tackle website. Allen 1 Quote

The 1/0 and 4/0 do not fit well in the mold soI had incomplete pours. I will tell you that these hooks run at least one size larger than most. Let me find my Owners and I will post a side by side comparison for reference. Allen 1 Quote
