If you are asking about Baitcasters, my vote is for the Lew's Speed Spool LFS series ($99.99, brand new on Ebay for $72-$79) Aluminum frame, 10 bearings, 15 pounds of drag, and my favorite feature an external lube port.

I already own the Tatula CT and Fuego and shimano Casita, Iv had my eye on the Lews LFS and tournament. Was looking to pick up something Farley cheap for a backup like the LFS but now I’m wondering if I should spend the extra money and get the Lews Tournament MB???

I can't say enough good things about the tournament mb. You can get them from retailers through eBay for $109.

My first choice would be a Daiwa...either the Tatula or Fuego.  Pflueger seldom ever gets mentioned when it comes to casting reels.  I feel they are an under-rated reel.  The Supreme is $100 and has an aluminum frame.  I am not familiar with the Magnetic brake system it uses.  I have an older aluminum framed Trion (had 2 but gave one away), but it has a centrifugal brake.  Have three of the older blue Patriarch XTs which have dual braking.

For $10 more (off ebay) the Lew's Tournament MB is a fine reel.

An option I love and have taken advantage of (multiple times :teeth:) is buying used.  The Patriarch XT retails for $250.  My last one cost me $65 and is in very good condition.  The original Fuego sometimes goes for less than $100 (a $230 reel).  Great reel that slips under the radar for many.  I have 3 of those also.  Nice looking...and casting...reels.

Go with MB.  100 bucks on Ebay

Since you didn't say casting or spinning, I'm going to go with the Daiwa BG, which I do believe is a no brainer for $100 retail. It's a little trickier with casting reels, although a Tatula CT can be had for around $100.

If you can afford the MB over the LFS I say go for it, especially if you can find it around $100

I have the LFS and Tournament MB. The MB is without a doubt nicer. It has dual braking, increases drag, and audible knob clicks where the LFS does not. Both are great though. I actually fish the LFS more often

Sportsman's Outfitters on EBay is $99 shipped.  Ordered my Dad one for Father's Day, and I own 3.  So I am kinda a fan of the MB.

They’re almost all good.

If price is the main factor, your best bet is probably an abu black max or daiwa cc80. I Give the daiwa the edge because of weight. It’s $60. Add hawgtech bearings for $16. For $76 you have a great reel.

A black max can be had for $30, add bearings for $16 you got a great reel for < $50. If you could find a low mass aftermarket shallow spool for it, you could knock a 1/2oz off of it and it would all cost about $85.

I play with all kinds of reels, just for the hell of it. There is nothing like using an $18 plastic Chinese reel from Ali Express and being amazed at how it’s almost as good as a lot of $200 reels (as long as all of the metal isn’t green and pimpled after one season or the bearings don’t seize when exposed to salt and the plastic anodizing doesn’t peel off).  I have some that lasted through several years of hard fishing. They are not good with light baits, though.

IMO, all known brand $100 reels are good. It all comes down to which fits the hands and rod best.
