Mrs Mike went shopping and the house is quiet and it got me thinking.

What gives you the most Peace where your mind goes blank and you just get lost?

Some may say sitting in a boat at dawn and watching the fog lift...

Or, Sitting on the bank of a mountain creek watching an Eagle...

Me, laying on the couch with my grand baby laying high on my chest matching breath for breath, and feeling her heart beat on top of mine.

Guarantee that for the rest of my life and I'll give you everything I own.

Slowly nodding off kicked back in the reclining love seat with my wife next to me. Youngest daughter on my lap and oldest daughter on my wife's lap with the dog in between. Just knowing at that moment my entire world is right there, and all the other stuff is just that... stuff.

After walking through the deer woods for several hours starting at daybreak, I find just the right spot to sit down and have lunch usually near a pond or beaver dam somewhere. Being a mostly solo hunter, on a huge tract of public land that no one else hunts, when your several miles off the road and there’s nothing at all to hear but the sounds of the November forest, that’s peace.

Sitting in a tree stand, watching the sunset and thinking about all the things in life that I am grateful for.

water has always brought me a sense of peace, the mist in the early morning, wave's hitting the shore. When we are out fishing and stop for lunch, if I close my eyes, the sound of the water against the boat will put me asleep.

In my former life, to relax and find piece, it had to be adrenaline driven.

Now, piece is watching my grandson sleep.  Sitting in a rocking chair and enjoying a great bourbon and cigar....Watching a fire with all the above..

Like A-Jay did, my youngest son is making a career in the Coast Guard. Been in for over nine years now. My oldest son, his wife and my two grandchildren live here in Knoxville.

I am at my happiest, at peace, when both of my boy's, both daughters in law and grandchildren are all here in the house together. Doesn't happen much, but when it does it's loud, it's crazy, it's funny around here. I just sit back and soak it in!

Having all the kids

"in the house together" at the same time...

"Sit back and soak it in"...

Gotta stop typing..The screen is getting a little blurry

Early morning fishing.

As far as the grandkid is concerned. When he's around, I forget about everyone else in the room. A different kind of peace.

Sometimes.

That's the Bighorn River in Montana, Easter weekend, 2012.

Drift boat, chasing trout, but I was lucky enough to be there at the end of the day on the last day of our trip.
