KASTKING has a medium action in only one of the calamus rods. What do they mean by medium action, I know what medium power is but not action. Is medium power stiffer or less stiff than moderate fast. And why is there only one rod with this option. Very confused @KastKingUSA

I don't think their Social Media department will have an answer for you. I PM'd the user a question about their Demon Pro rod, here was the response.

they are confusing power and action.

power refers to the amount of stress it takes to bend a rod and is expressed as UL, light, medium, MH  etc.

Action is another word for taper and describes WHERE the rod will bend upon being deflected (extra fast bends right near the tip, fast bends further down, moderate bends almost half the length of the rod etc)

that rod is ML power but no idea what the action/taper would be. its an error on their site.

Probably a misprint. Action is listed as x fast, fast, moderate fast, moderate & slow.

Perhaps, but on the ordering part of their website it says moderate fast under that same rod so that’s why I was a little confused

Yes, I think others have it covered correctly who think that it is a misprint.

The rod you have circled is a Medium Light; the other one just below it is a Medium.

You can also judge the difference by noting the ratings for each and that the Medium has a higher lure weight top end, a larger line recommendation top end . . . and it weighs more which indicates that it has a generally thicker construct.

My "guess" is what they actually mean is a ML with Moderate Fast Action.

Regular is basically a synonym for "moderate fast". I wish they would just use moderate fast for consistency, you know?

I saw rods listed as medium action before and I'm not talking power but action. Anytime I see a medium action rod with a different power like medium heavy it is almost always a moderate action but companies that do that typically list a moderate-fast as a medium-fast as well.
