JFlynn97 Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Recently got a Duckett micro magic cranking rod and I am ordering a Daiwa Fuego CT 6.3:1 to pair up with it. I plan on using the rod practically only for crankbaits (though also maybe other treble-hook baits like jerkbaits, topwater walking baits and poppers, etc. if you guys think the rod will work for that), what kind of line do you recommend? I was thinking 12-15lb monofilament because that's what I always hear people recommend for cranks, but I'd love a bit of input. Thanks! Quote
Super User burrows Posted June 22, 2018 Super User Posted June 22, 2018 P line cx premium is affordable and you can use it for crank baits jerk baits and it slow sinking so you can throw poprs and your trebles hook top waters. I have been using this line exclusively for my crankbait jerkbait top water rod. Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted June 22, 2018 Super User Posted June 22, 2018 I have very good luck using 12 pound Sufix Siege for the types of fishing you mentioned. I believe the rod will be fine for these as I use a cranking rod for these types of fishing as well. Quote
Super User Angry John Posted June 22, 2018 Super User Posted June 22, 2018 10 lb cx or yhb. Both great lines. I RUn 14lb xl for topwater or 30 braid. 1 Quote
