I am super curious on the orochi flatside and heard there amazing rods! If you can get your hands on one of definately take a look at it. The st. Croix are suppose to be great rods but they feel really heavy to me so just not my thing.

i fish with an imx pro 845c cbr and love the rod! It’s the reason I’m now in the market for a glx or nrx as I’m hooked! Would highly recommend to anyone

I have a flatside, st croix crankbait and loomis E6X  and the flatside and SC both are great. The Loomis has been set aside for deep cranks

The flatside is a tad heavier and I use it more for 1/2 ounce JB.

The ST Croix handles lighter baits better

If you never tried glass you might want to fish with one before you spend 200 bucks on a legend tournament glass rod? You might hate it ? Or you might love it ?

I prefer glass or a glass composite but many prefer graphite nowadays.

Sounds like the orochi xx swingfire might be exactly what I'm looking for then if the flatside is a stiffer rod.

Although I do throw a lot of LC LV 500's

Right now I'm using the Dobyns fury 705 CB

MY favorite crankbait rod isn't on your list.  None of the rods on your list are in my arsenal.   :(

For that kind of money, I’d want a rod that serves a particular nitch in my cranking needs. What I look for in said rod may be completely different than what you’re looking for. So,What is it that you want the rod to do that your others don’t?

I have owned the Megabass orochi xx fss, St Croix avid mhm, and a dobyns 705cb. The fss was awesome but it broke on me. Still have the 705 cb and it’s my go to for shallow to medium cranks. Highly reccomended

I have a Shimano Crucial (old version with non cork handles).  It has been the best I have used so far.  I have tried/owned St. Croix Avid, G. Loomis GLX Crankbait, the older G Loomis Crankbait series, and a Powell CB.  The Crucial has been the best for my style of crank bait fishing.  It's not too dead feeling and not too sensitive.
